Some Quick n' Fun Facts:

I spent the first 22 years of my life in Austin, TX.

I graduated from the creative writing program at Seattle University.

I'm a recent graduate of the MFA program at the University of Michigan.

I'm remaining in Ann Arbor for 2007-2008 as a Zell Postgraduate Fellow in Creative Writing.

I HATE tomatoes.

If you're into the whole astrology thing, I'm a Scorpio/Snake.

If you're REALLY into the astrology thing: Moon in Leo, Leo Rising, Mercury in Scorpio, Venus in Libra, Mars in Leo, Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Leo, Uranus in Scorpio, Neptune in Saggitarius, Pluto in Libra.

I'm also an INFJ: "The Counselor." That kind of pissed me off.

I have two gay cats: Sir Maxwell "Brigadoon" Von Houser (Maxwell, for short) and Sir Svidrigailov (Sviddy, for short).

I used to be a competitive ballroom dancer, but alas, I broke up with my partner and never found another one.

I used to be a drama student, but alas, I was kicked out of the program for being negative, judgmental and domineering (see astrological profile above).

I used to do ballet, but alas, I developed hips, got too tall and grew bow-legged.

I've been involved with poetry slam for ten years now. I suppose that makes me a slam poet. There, I said it. I feel better.

I'm a movie buff, specifically a classic movie buff.

I like to invent games & make people play them. For instance, I was the one responsible for introducing "Big Booty" to the National Poetry Slam.

I like to play dress-up.

I'm very sporadic about keeping my journal.

I usually receive at least one literary journal rejection slip a day. That's a lot of rejection.

I think I have nice shoulders.

I like really spicy food.

My middle name is Emerson (after Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, not after Ralph Waldo).

I collect ties.

I worry a lot.

I love to dance.
